On August 12, at the site of Shandong Hongxing New Materials’ green and eco-friendly new solvent project, stand-alone commissioning of 147 sets of equipment has just been completed, and the project is about to enter the joint commissioning phase. Once all equipment commissioning is finished, mass production of domestically scarce monoether raw materials will be realized here.

“At present, 95% of monoether products in China rely on imports, and domestic production capacity cannot meet market demand. Our company takes the lead in adopting microchannel reactor technology. The manufactured products feature high safety and reliability while enabling continuous production, which will effectively ease the shortage of such products in China,” Wang Junbiao, Project Manager of Shandong Hongxing New Materials Technology Industry Co., Ltd., told reporters with pride.

It is understood that the project mainly produces green and eco-friendly new solvents of alcohol ethers and acetates, which are widely applied in biomedicine, electronic chemicals, new energy electrolytes, solar cells and other fields. Upon completion, the project will fully break international monopolies and become China’s first manufacturer capable of full import substitution, with an estimated market share of over 90%.

“After commissioning, our products will reach world-class standards. They can replace conventional low-end solvents with heavy environmental impacts and meet the criteria of environmental friendliness, low carbon emission and easy biodegradation,” said Liu Xin, Deputy General Manager of the Production Equipment Department of Shandong Hongxing New Materials Technology Industry Co., Ltd., with great excitement.
